Cory and I first met September 2, 2018 at an event where I instantly recognized him because he had followed me on Instagram months prior but we never spoke. Months later I ran into him at an event, and my first impression of him was that he was even more handsome in person. I said hi, and he in-turned held my hand without hesitation pulled me closer and we just started dancing. After having our moment that felt has if we were frozen in time, I said “ I know you and I will message you later”. Fast forward to our first date, I was in nursing school and had a jam packed schedule, Cory came to my school got me all my favorite food and snacks so that when I got home I would have time to study. We spoke the whole car ride, I have never laughed so much it was such a small gesture but it was huge for me. At the end of the date, I felt so happy smiling from ear to ear, who would have thought a 40 minute car ride would turn into a forever kind of love story.
One of the first memories I have where I thought to myself, "I could picture marrying Cory," was coming down a flight of stairs and seeing him waiting for me at school and he did this for 18 months I was in school, he made sure I made it to every clinical even if he had to wake up 6 in the morning he was up and ready. He knew how much getting my career meant to me and did anything he could to make sure I could achieve my dreams. Of course, Cory points to a different memory as a particular highlight of our relationship. I remember being in a really tough spot and not sure how I could tell Chantel about it, she immediately knew something was wrong and waiting patiently until I told her. She was so patient with me, understanding and compassionate. She sat there with a listening ear and no judgement in sight. In that moment I realized that this who I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.
When Cory proposed to me I was flooded with so much emotions, seeing my friends and family all in one room excited to see me happy just made the day so much more special. The idea of spending forever with Cory is like wrapping myself in a warm, comforting blanket of love and security. It brings a sense of peace and excitement, knowing that every day will be an adventure shared with my best friend. Marriage to us means building a life together with God's grace, filled with shared dreams and unwavering support. It's about growing old together, watching the seasons change, and creating a lifetime of beautiful memories.
We're both so grateful to our friends and family, for your love and support. We can't wait to celebrate our wedding with you soon!
